Welcome to our home. We are situated in the pretty North Tyne Village of Humshaugh, half a mile from Hadrian’s Wall Trail and six miles from the market town of Hexham with its famous Abbey.
Our house is a large Grade II listed property which dates back to the seventeenth century and was originally two bastles or semi fortified buildings. We have two ensuite guest bedrooms. The kingsize overlooks the fields at the front of the house and the double has views over the village.
The village provides an ideal base to explore the Northumberland countryside. For those walking Hadrian’s Wall Trail this is the perfect location. Humshaugh adjoins Chollerford where the Trail crosses the river North Tyne. A short distance away is the Roman fort of Chesters .
There is a well stocked community-run village shop where you can buy newspapers, plasters and other essentials for your day. The Crown Inn is a popular pub serving delicious meals seven days a week and there are many footpaths to explore around the village.
Breakfast is served in the dining room including eggs from our own hens and seasonal soft fruit from the garden. Packed lunches are available on request.
